This is my go to smoothie I drink after a good workout or a midday snack. This fills me up enough to replace as my lunch as well. It has coffee, chocolate milk, protein, peanut butter and banana. This flavor and energy packed smoothie will give you that midday boost you need with the protein to sustain that energy the rest of your day. You will never get tired of this and look forward to drinking this daily. This smoothie is super easy to make and requires little prep work.

As far as my ingredients go, I save some money by brewing my own coffee either the night before and place it in the fridge or brew an entire pot, put it in a pitcher and refrigerate it. You can barely taste the coffee flavor in it so it helps with the energy part more than anything. I’m sure it does change the flavor but since I’ve never made it without coffee it could change the taste. I definitely prefer to have the coffee though.

My all time favorite protein powder though is Orgain Organic Protein. It gives a great flavor, has the right amount of carbs, calories and protein per serving. I use vanilla since I make a different smoothie that wouldn’t be great with chocolate flavored protein.

You can choose whatever peanut butter you like, but just make sure to read the nutrition facts to stay within your caloric intake. My choice is Skippy peanut butter. Yes I know it’s not as good for me as organic, but I didn’t like how separated the organic peanut butter would get.

My go to for the chocolate flavor is Silk Almond chocolate milk. I was turned on to Silk almond milk when I tried a vegan diet and absolutely loved the flavor of silk vs regular milk. It is pricey but when you consider it as a replacement for lunch or snack, it saves money and is better than fast food. Depends on how long hick you like your smoothies/shakes will depend on how much chocolate milk to add.

I have recently started to add a half scoop of Orgain Collagen. It has added protein and little calories to it. There is no flavor and is beneficial for skin and bones.

Ingredients:

8 oz of cold coffee

1 banana

3 tablespoons peanut butter

2 scoops of Orgain protein powder

1/2 scoop Orgain Collagen powder

4-8oz of Silk almond chocolate milk

I start by pouring the coffee in the blender. Then I take my peanut butter and scrape the bit stuck on the spoon with the banana. Add your protein powder and collagen. Then top it off with the chocolate milk of your desired amount. Blend it to a smooth consistency and enjoy! I have a Ninja CT680 and use the blender bottle to blend and drink from. The setting I like to use is the smoothie setting which gives it the perfect texture.
